Job Summary

The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the Operations Manager in ensuring smooth, efficient, and cost-effective delivery operations. This role involves overseeing daily logistics activities, monitoring performance, managing delivery teams, and improving service quality to meet customer satisfaction and company goals. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations & Logistics Management

  • Supervise and coordinate daily delivery operations to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Monitor route planning, driver performance, and vehicle utilization.
  • Manage warehouse or dispatch center operations (sorting, packaging, and dispatch).
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.

2. Team Management

  • Lead and motivate delivery supervisors, drivers, and warehouse staff.
  • Provide training and performance feedback to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Assist in workforce planning and scheduling to meet delivery demand.

3. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track key operational metrics (delivery time, success rate, fuel usage, etc.).
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management review.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.

4. Customer & Vendor Coordination

  • Handle escalated customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, and partner platforms for smooth service delivery.

5. Cost & Resource Management

  • Support in budget planning and cost control initiatives.
  • Optimize resources to reduce wastage and improve profitability.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, courier, or delivery operations.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and logistics/delivery management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
  • Can travel if necessary.
