Job Summary
The Fleet (Highway) Supervisor is responsible for managing
and monitoring highway drivers, vehicles, and related operations to ensure
safe, timely, and cost-effective long-distance transportation. This role
involves supervising drivers, planning routes, monitoring fleet performance,
and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and assign tasks to highway drivers.
- Plan and monitor highway routes to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
- Ensure compliance with traffic laws, safety standards, and company policies.
- Monitor fuel usage, mileage, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Oversee loading/unloading processes to ensure cargo safety.
- Handle driver schedules, shifts, and leave planning.
- Track fleet performance using GPS/transport management systems.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly reports on fleet activities.
- Respond to emergencies, accidents, or breakdowns and arrange support.
- Train and guide drivers to improve efficiency, safety, and customer service.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fleet/transport supervision, preferably in highway operations.
- Strong knowledge of highway routes, transport regulations, and vehicle management.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially under pressure.
- Proficiency in MS Office and fleet/GPS tracking systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel.
